Non-Destructive Testing of Metalwork

There was a routine maintenance requirement to assess the structural condition of a number of steel storage tanks at a chemical processing works. Conventional NDT methods, involving ultrasonic wall thickness measurement and magnetic particle inspection, provided a rapid means of assessing the present condition of these structures.
