Load Testing
The change of use of existing buildings often requires the load bearing capability of the structure to be established to allow increased loading. On occasions a full scale load test is carried out to allow the structural performance of the floor slab to be established under full theoretical loading. Hand weights can often provide the most practical method for applying the loading with a safety catch scaffold erected beneath in case of structural failure. |

Leak Detection
Loss of water through cracks in the lining of swimming pools can often result in the loss of underslab material by washout, causing underslab voiding and unsupported areas of slab. Subsurface radar can be used to profile through the reinforced concrete floor and wall slabs of swimming pools to identify areas of underslab voiding for subsequent repair.
